Forum to let

Hi everyone, I started this project with good hope this forum would be a fun place for enthousiasts about the RTL871* series of chips/modules. For now I don't have the time to properly manage the flood of SPAM. I'm thus looking for a successor to handle the forum and take over the domain name and so...

Re: RTL8710 and Blinkenlights

Hi tidklaas and kissste,

Thank you for the fast reply. I have now set up a 32-bit ubuntu 14.04 LTS and it works like a charm. Thank you for the fast responses. I'll try to flash my PADI IoT later on today.

Kind regards,
Daan

Re: RTL8710 and Blinkenlights

Hi tidklaas, I finally found some time to start digging into the SDK. I used the one from the Pine64 website as I have two PADI IoT stamp modules. The problem is that I can't get the objcopy to work. I'm on ubuntu 14.04 LTS (64 bit). The error I get is the following: dpape@ubuntu:~/padiiot/project/r...

Re: Ameba SDK

Hi kd8bxp,

I assume you posted the video on youtube. I'm working on a guide for the PADI IoT stamp (from Pine64) and it uses the same toolchain as the Realtek Ameba. I'm going to do a write up hopefully this week on the forum. This should than answer your question.

Kind regards,
Daan

Re: Adapter board for CP830 (RTL8711AF)

Hello kissste, These are interesting modules. Are you looking for a breadboard adapter or a board with some extra functionality. I'm going to place a small PCB order the coming days, maybe I can design a breakout board and place it in some kind of forum shop if multiple people are interested. Kind r...

Re: RTL8710 and I2S

Hi kissste,

I'm excited to learn more about the I2S functions. Maybe an Internet Radio could be built. Do you have a specific DAC in mind?

Kind regards,
Daan

The PADI IoT-stamp, a $1.99 Pine64 IoT-module

Hello forum readers, Great news today from our friends at Pine64. The past month they have been working hard on the PADI IoT module based on the RTL8710 chip. Hard work has been done to make the RTL8710 developer friendly by delivering all tools to develop on-chip software. All this in a small 24mm ...
